Mr. DiRaimo joined the staff of Penn State's Office of Government Affairs in December 2001 as Director of State Relations. Mike represents Penn State in Harrisburg and monitors a broad range of state issues, including the state budget, and other administrative and legislative initiatives impacting the University. He reports to the Special Assistant to the President for Governmental Affairs.

Mike is an Erie County native, who earned both his Bachelor and Master of Arts degrees in History from Penn State. He began his professional career in 1981 as a legislative aide to the late Representative James J. Manderino, Democratic Leader and later Speaker of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, and has spent most of his career working in and around Pennsylvania State Government. Mike has served as the lobbyist for several organizations most recently as the Director of State and Federal Liaison for the Pittsburgh Public Schools.

He resides in Ferguson Township with his wife Jackie and two children; Danielle (22) and Michael (19).
